Tell Agrana Fruit to do the right thing for workers!

Mr. Sean Augustus, Plant Manager, Agrana Fruit

We fully support employees of Agrana Fruit as they seek to form a union with the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM). Join us in urging Agrana Fruit to stay neutral as employees seek a fair process for determining whether to form a union.

The upcoming NLRB election on October 30, 2014 can mean the difference between short-term jobs with no employment protections or long-term careers that can help families achieve a better life. We stand with the workers in their desire to have a voice on the job that will help ensure better wages and conditions of employment.

Working people in New York stand by each other in fights for dignity and respect at the workplace. When workers raise their voices together, they win!

As supporters and consumers, respectively, we write to express our full support for employees of Agrana Fruit as they seek to form a union with the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM). We respectfully urge you to stay neutral as your employees seek a fair process for determining whether to form a union.

As you know, yogurt is now the official “State Snack” of New York. As such, we expect the industry to expand even more in this state. Your company has received financial incentives from state and local entities to keep and grow those jobs right here in Central New York.

Therefore, it is our hope that your company will respect its workers by allowing a fair election without employer interference in their right to form a union.

We know there has been considerable misinformation and interference by outside groups funded by those who seek to have their voice silenced on the job. We want to reiterate our full support for the workers and request a free and fair election process for voting on BCTGM representation during which Agrana Fruit does not in any way attempt to influence employees to vote yes or no.

We also ask that Agrana Fruit immediately commence bargaining in good faith for a contract upon certification of a majority vote by employees for BCTGM representation.

Please know that working people in New York stand by your employees in their fight for dignity and respect at the workplace.
