Commit to vote the labor slate this November

This November, vote out the politicians responsible for thousands of unnecessary COVID deaths in Texas.

For the first few months of the pandemic, Texas seemed to have been spared the worst. Then, following Trump’s lead, Texas Republicans decided to politicize the virus. Governor Greg Abbott reopened bars and restaurants too soon, before new daily cases had dropped and without making sure we had the testing and hospital capacity to handle a surge.

In June and July, Texas became the epicenter of the crisis as the virus surged to over 10,000 new cases a day. Abbott reversed his own order to re-open, but it was too late. By the end of August, over 12,000 Texans had died from the virus.

The crisis is far from over. Abbott is endangering students, teachers, and staff by pressuring schools to resume in-person classes in defiance of local health authorities. Essential workers still lack sufficient workplace safety standards. A massive eviction crisis has already begun.
