Protect workplace privacy with SB 5417

SB 5417 would protect workers' First Amendment and privacy rights in Washington state by stopping corporations from forcing the employers' religious or political beliefs upon them. Workers could not be fired or retaliated against if they choose not to participate in communications, including "mandatory meetings," where the bosses press their views on matters of individual conscience like religion, politics, unions, and charitable giving. Employers who violate these privacy rights would be liable in a civil cause of action, including punitive damages, gross loss of wages, and attorneys fees.
