On June 6, David Huerta—president of SEIU California and SEIU-USWW—was violently arrested while serving as a community observer at an ICE raid in Los Angeles. He was injured, hospitalized, and remains in federal custody.

This moment demands our attention—not just as union members, but as people who believe in dignity, free speech, and the right to stand up for our communities. Immigrants are part of our union family, and what we allow to happen to one of us reflects on all of us.
