Living the Legacy Community Service Day

Start: Friday, January 05, 202410:00 AM

End: Friday, January 05, 202401:00 PM

Join the WNY Area Labor Federation staff, Executive Board, and volunteer union members as we launch our first Living the Legacy Community Service Day! This day is an extension of our 3rd Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Legacy Luncheon and our programming around racial justice in the labor movement and in WNY.

The Reverend Dr King knew and preached the power of service to one's community, and this is your chance to roll up your sleeves with us as we dedicate ourselves to service at the Delavan Grider Community Center. From children to seniors, this organization truly serves all members of Buffalo's East Side community. Together we will help to organize and clean the center's storage facilities so that they can start 2024 off cleaner, stronger, and ready to help as many people as possible.

This event will be indoors, and accessible. Lunch will be served at the conclusion of the event. Volunteers should expect to be photographed and/or recorded by WNYALF staff for media purposes.

Please have each member of your union fill out the short form on this page to sign up.
