Right now, veterans’ jobs, health care and essential services from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are all under attack, leaving thousands of veterans vulnerable to delays and gaps in care. Veterans didn’t sacrifice for our country just to be left out in the cold by DOGE and Project 2025 cuts.
But in solidarity, there is strength.
Please call your senators and representative at (855) 937-0235 and ask them to:
- Protect federal jobs for veterans and military families.
- Stop the privatization and weakening of the VA.
- Prioritize veterans’ health care and benefits by ensuring the VA has the resources it needs to serve those who served our country.
You don’t have to be an expert in order to make a difference. You just need to tell your story. Below is a sample script you may want to use during your call.
Sample Script
INTRODUCTION
Hello, my name is [Your Full Name], and I’m a [Veteran of the U.S. Military/Family Member/Concerned Citizen]. I live in [City, State] and am a constituent of [Rep./Sen. (Name)].
PURPOSE
I’m calling today because I’m deeply concerned that our country is breaking its promise to those who have served. Veterans and their family members are being fired from federal jobs. And our health care and benefits are under attack. As someone who relies on [or cares about] VA services, I’m concerned about the efforts to weaken the VA.
PERSONAL IMPACT (optional but powerful)
[For example, briefly share a personal experience about your federal job or with the VA that highlights the importance of adequate staffing levels, specialized health care, and support for veterans’ benefits.]
REQUEST
I’m urging [Rep./Sen. (Name)] to:
- Protect federal jobs for veterans and military families.
