Since Trump’s first executive order in March ripped away collective bargaining rights from nearly 1 million workers, it’s only gotten worse. His administration expanded the attack to include more federal agencies. The administration also has begun implementing the executive orders by canceling the contracts of nearly 450,000 federal workers at the departments of Agriculture, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs and the Environmental Protection Agency.
This not only hurts federal workers—it also hurts our communities, and the people who rely on the critical services these workers provide.
And we know that Trump won’t stop with federal workers. His Project 2025 agenda spelled it out loud and clear: He and his administration want to put an end to collective bargaining, and make sure that workers are powerless to oppose his actions.
But we are not powerless. We got organized and helped introduce a bipartisan bill in Congress to overturn this executive order. Then we mobilized to get a majority of the members of Congress—Democrats AND Republicans—to sign on as co-sponsors for that bill, and to sign the discharge petition that will bring it to the floor for a vote. We’re close to reaching the 218 signatures needed.
So now it’s the Senate’s turn. We need every senator—Republican, Democrat and independent—who says they support America’s unions to vote for the Protect America’s Workforce Act and restore federal workers’ union rights.
So let’s get this done. It’s time to restore federal workers’ collective bargaining rights, and protect ALL union members’ rights in this country. Urge your senators to co-sponsor the Protect America’s Workforce Act.
